Keynote II: John Bonini

Intel’s VP/General manager of esports and gaming oversaw the company’s landmark partnerships with ESL and the Overwatch League, as well the Intel Extreme Masters Pyeongchang—the first ever esports event endorsed by the International Olympic Committee. John will explain technological developments in esports, and the chipmaker’s unique role as both a sponsor and mediator of the industry.

Panel II: Venue Expertise: What is Needed to Run an Esports Event?

2:30pm Program

Panel III: Emerging Markets: Where is the Growth and What’s Next?

SEA, India, and China are individually smaller esports markets than the U.S., yet each have a much higher gamer to non-gamer population. Learn why a multi-million dollar airline sponsored an ASEAN-wide tournament, how a former investment-banker built up India’s esports industry, and where Tencent will direct its $15B esports spending plan.

Panel IV: Mobile Gaming: The New Platform Driving Diversity in Esports

In China, mobile esports is king: with stadium events drawing in top-tier sponsors such as McDonald’s, and player transfer deals exceeding $1M. With the West still focused on PC and console gaming, is it already time to invest in a stateside mobile revolution?

– Refreshment Break –

Panel V: Breakdown: The Business Model of Esports Teams

Leaders from three top North American esports organizations answer one of the most common questions in esports: how do pro teams make money? This panel covers all bases: how prize-money is distributed, what dedicated facilities mean for stability, and how some companies draw revenue through data and analytics.

Panel VI: Is Esports Going Pay-Per-View? Media Rights and Its Implications

Every top esports competition right now is completely free to watch. If fans don’t want their matches behind a paywall, how are broadcasts monetized? This panel breaks down the unique opportunities offered by esports media deals, including in-app purchases, social media integration, and revenue-sharing for teams.

Closing: Chris Hana

@Ola: This is what I imagine how the sponsor’s logos will be presented. In a Hive of hexagons. Hexagons can be bigger and stuff, but I like the idea. Not every hexagon has to be filled. This is just a picture I downloaded from the internet, can look differently. Do your thing. 😉
